super chikboy and his family

My Super Chikboy,

Have I told you already? You're the only superhero with that name. Dad and I invented it for you. During cousin Ty's birthday while cousin Ty was Dash from the Incredibles...

Super Chikboy and Dash

w/ Perez Cuzinz:our family here in cebu =)

Super Chikboy

I wish for you to see your cousins often but since that is not possible as of the moment, I cropped some pictures and Tita Mae made it into a a poster with the faces of not only your cousins but also of the rest of our big family. I let you say hi to them every day so that you'll get familiar with their faces. In fact, we really talk to them. hahaha. You think we look funny? Talking to a poster? No we look cute. This idea was suggested by your Tita Anne because she wants you to be at home with her (&them) when we go to Bacolod. Hopefully next month for your cousin Abe's birthday. You should memorize all of their faces Anak cuz they all said cuz Abe can really tell who's He's superman you know!

This is our family son. I hope and pray that you grow up with love and respect for our family for they say: "A man travels the world over in search of what he needs, and returns home to find it." Our family loves us unconditionally, that's love next to what God can give. So remember, family first okey? =)

I love you,
Mommy

Tita Mae: housemate, tita, cook, and ---> photographer

Dearest Baby,

Yesterday, I went to the city to meet a client whose getting married and she wants me to host her wedding! We also talked about the possibility of her availing our chocolate fountain. But that's not the purpose of this letter =) See, Its been my habit to call home to check on you....

Tita Mae: (super excited) Hello nang! Nang! nang! gwapo2 bala lau Uji nang! as in! gin picturan ko sya Nang!
Mommy: Tuod?!! (mas excited)

Mommy: sige sige tan awon ko karon iya picture....(sooo excited for the pix)

Upon arriving few hours later, the next thing I did after kissing and hugging you was to check on the pictures.

Toink! wala gid itsura puros gatalikod hahaha! But It's a nice try.

I have been wanting to tell you about our her.
Aside from Daddy, we have with us your Tita Mae. She's been with us since you were 4 months old. She loves you dearly and you do love her. In fact, your first clear word was "Tita". And I regret to admit, you said that even before you could say "Mommy". Oh well. Im not jealous. I know Im number one in your heart =)

Tita Mae is one of God's blessings to our family. She is my 3rd degree cousin who seems to be staying with us for as long as we need her. Let's just pray to God that she won't get married early. Haha. She's an excellent cook. As in namit. She does things around the house without being told. She makes sure that you are always smelling fresh, clean, and comfortable. You go out with her every single day @ 4:00 to play around the neighborhood. She buys you stuff from her own money. Like that cute hat. Remember? She reloads your timezone card. She buys you your favorite waffle. She is really your Tita. She may get monthly pay from us but she never becomes our househelp. She is your tita. I may get mad at her for her lapses, and sometimes its also because of my unreasonable mood swings, but I make it up to her. I buy her little nothings ..
I kiss her in the mass during peace-offering time. I just pray Tita Mae stays with us for good. Especially now that I suspect you're gonna be Kuya (!) I pray that God bless her more. That God heals her nanay, Tita Boday, and that her brothers will have stable careers. And yes, difficult it may seem, but I also pray that she has to have her own life with a good family. In God's Time.

I want you to respect, value, and love Tita Mae. Not only because she loves you and takes care of you, but also because that's what God wants okey?

Love,
Mom

P.S. we are in a magazine where Tita Anne2 works! hehe Wanna see it? click here

nike? or daddy?

Hi Baby!

Nothing much to tell you today. We've been inseparable for more than two weeks already. I've been bringing you everywhere. And I love it!

Let me recall...

Two days ago... Dad arrived from Malaysia. He was there for four days to set up some lab. Im not so sure what that meant hehe. He arrived so excited to let you fit those cute nike sneakers he bought for you. I was green with envy. I wish I have a new pair for running too hehehe. But it's okey coz I also have my gold rubber sandals (the most comfortable pair ever!) and a 'paris hilton' shades (which reminds me of today's headline). Well, am I bragging? Maybe but I'd like to believe these are just material things. These things can't give us authentic happiness. What matters most is Dad arrived in one piece and we are in each others' arms again. I'd rather you have a 'spartan' sandals with your Dad. Than a thousand Nike without him...

I recall growing up with your Titas and Tito (my siblings) without much luxury in life. Deprived even. But Lolopapang and Lolamamang instilled to us that true essence of happiness don't always come from the expensive things. We grew up poor. But happy. Because our parents were always there beside us. I could go on till tomorrow telling stories about our humble but happy childhood. But that would be another blog. Maybe nex time =)

I told you I have nothing much to say hehe .. Im so hungry now. It's already 7:30 PM and I haven't had dinner yet coz i'm waiting for your Dad, while you watch Dora.

By the way I have noticed, your laugh has become a little louder already. Maybe you got Dad's signature, crispy laugh. Bwahahah =)

I love you,
Memi (you call me that lately)

fathers day

Dearest Anak,

Today is FATHERS DAY. So I made this special collage of you and your Dad....

My one way of letting you know he loves you (and me) next to God (that's what he tells me all the time!) He is a very good provider for our family. He loves to go home early so he can be with you. He changes your diapers. He gives you a very nice and lingering bath every weekend. He sings for you till you sleep with his very own composition. I can tell he's willing to do more for the love of you.

I praise the Lord always for giving us you Dad.
And let us not forget, your Lolopapang, and Daddylo, too.
Most of all --- let's praise our ONE FATHER UP THERE who never leaves us one second :)

i love you and i love your dad very much!

the dreadful basket

Dear Son,

The basket you see here has caused me tears today.

I bought it one day while we were in the mall because you loved playing with it, putting stuff inside it, feeling responsible for carrying something like grown ups do in a supermarket.

And this basket became one of your favorite toys in the house. You just love putting things inside it, carrying it around, unloading it, and putting your tiny fingers in its little holes.
Until this morning. This morning i will never forget. Your tiny fingers weren't that tiny anymore -- they got STUCK!!! Your forefinger and thumb got stuck in it and we couldn't remove them that easy. What frightened me more and caused me to cry was your very-painful-and-really-hurt-very-very-loud cry! Your lips were already trembling and your face was red. Why not? Your fingers were already purple!!!! And it began to swell!! My Goodness!I was ready to call an ambulance. But I thought. Something must be done now! I couldn't wait for another minute listening to your painful cry...

I thank the Holy Spirit for guiding me not to panic. I remember shouting "Lord! buligi kami ay ano himuon namun!!! (Lord please help us. Tell us what to do!!!) I right away remembered: soap and water! I saw that being done by some people when they couldn't remove a ring from their finger. Thanks to the dishwashing liquid and the pail of water that's already full. Thanks too for Tita Mae who shouted and cried with me. As I submerged your fingers -- I mean the basket with your fingers -- in the pail, I told you: "Baby relax lang ha.. relax lang" then I began to massage your fingers calmly -- praying all at the same time. Before we knew it, your fingers were FREE!!!

"Thank You Lord!". That's all I could say. And we both cried. Till you were calm.

Now baby, Im ordering you-- don't you dare touch that basket again. Is that clear?

traumatized-by-the-basket,
...Mommy

on escalators and trash

Hey Little Boy,

That's what you are now. No longer a baby but a small man! Im so proud seeing you step on and off the escalator with only your one hand holding on to me =) How fast you have grown Baby! ooops, I still love to call you 'baby'. And I guess that's forever.

Thank you baby for helping me pick up and put the pieces of trash in the plastic bag. I was so happy seeing you perform such responsible act even if I sure know you never understood what that meant. For you it was just play =) ... your 'proud' smile after I said 'very good' really made my day. I so wish I had a videocam with me when you did that earlier today. Never mind. It's forever recorded in my mind and heart.

Meanwhile, let's enjoy the moment that Lolo and Lola are here with us.
And let's count 60 more minutes before Dad arrives from China. We miss him so much, don't we?

a million hugs and kisses,
Mom
